Ellements Retreat Styled Shoot

This weekend, I delivered my last wedding gallery of 2015… and immediately wanted to dance around with little restraint! 2015 has been an incredibly year, full of personal and professional growth, a number of exciting changes, and so many wonderful memories of love.  I will spend the next few weeks reflecting on some of the best moments of the year…

One of those great moments was the Ellements Retreat in January. A group of photographers I mentor and I met in Atlanta for a weekend of relaxation, learning… and a styled shoot. Read more about the retreat here!

The theme for the shoot was Art Nouveau, a period in the late 19th Century that embraced all of the arts, including architecture, graphic art, interior design, and most of the decorative arts. Though eventually replaced by 20th century modernist styles, it is now considered as an important transition between the eclectic historic revival styles of the 19th century and modernism.

De’nia Whitted of Weddings by Day joined me in the planning of the shoot, along with Celeste Gregory of Ambience Decor, who also provided the floral pieces and design.

Art Nouveau Styled Shoot_0059The bride wore a beaded Enaura gown from The White Room in Birmingham, Alabama and a studded headpiece provided by Lacielle Roselle. Kunya Jones of Makeup Dash did her make-up and Reshonda LaBerth did her hair. Kia, a 2014 bride, looked as beautiful as always! And Clarence, her husband always brings his A-game.

Our table settings would not have been possible without Idol Linens and Classic Party Rentals, both based in Memphis, TN, while Jenkins Rose provided all of the paper items, including the invitation suite, table menus, and various place cards.
