They met in college, but it wasn’t until they crossed paths at a mutual friend’s birthday party some ten years later, that Kia and Clarence really became friends…. A friendship that became the foundation for their love. After Clarence’s epic proposal and their super sweet engagement session, I knew their wedding would not disappoint.  They put thought into every detail, but never let their wedding overshadow the reason for the day. They simply felt blessed, knowing they were marrying their best friend and continue to be excited about learning and growing together in their relationship with God and each other. Kia, as beautiful as ever, wore a Enaura gown from the White Room and rocked her signature pixie cut. She and her bridesmaids (and adorable ham of a nephew) got ready for the day at the Westin in Birmingham’s entertainment district. The ceremony and reception took place at one of my favorite Birmingham venues, Bridgestreet Gallery and Loft, which was beautifully decorated by Christopher Lauren Events. Kia and Clarence’s favorite detail of the day was the hand lettered scroll that hung at the alter, displaying the words of 1 Corinthians 13.  It was the perfect backdrop for the two, as they poured out their hearts (and made their guests giggle a time or two) with their personally written vows.
