When I sit down with a couple for the first time, I always start the conversation with two questions, “how did you meet?” and “how did he propose?” I can learn a lot about a couple from their answers… and such was the case with Kia and Clarence. Both of their faces lit up, at the opportunity to tell me their proposal story… which makes perfect sense, considering it’s they type of story modern-day fairy tales are made of.

On the 23rd of December, Clarence and his staff of talented volunteers carried out a Christmas Carol-inspired proposal.  Throughout the day, Kia was visited by the Sprits of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Future. Clarence explained that he wanted the Spirit of Christmas Past to embody a joyful, child-like nature, that he hoped would remain a part of their relationship. The Spirit of Christmas Present was all about enjoying the moment that they are in. And the Spirits of Christmas Future (my favorite) was a couple that had been married for 30+ years that simply wanted to be a part of Kia and Clarence’s love story, that represented everything Clarence hoped they could be.
