My couples and I talk at length about the types of activities they like to do together, places they go, and the things that I like to describe as being “soooo them.” Besides it helping me to get to know them better, this chat helps me come up with possible themes for their engagement session, that will really reflect their personality as a couple. At first, Ricky and Tiki told me that they really just like to have fun together. With some prying on my part and brainstorming on theirs, we were able to add: they are both morning people; they enjoy being outdoors; and both play a musical instrument. Pulling all of that together, we decided to meet at sunrise for a little “jam session” in the park! Hehe.
“Watch out now!!”
With all of the rain we’ve been receiving, the morning was cloudy and overcast. Luckily, the sun peeked out long enough for me to capture this amazing shot of the two, from across the lake.
Before leaving the park, they wanted to capture a few shots of them fishing. Rickey introduced Tiki to fishing on one of their dates together, and although she hasn’t quite grasped the technique, she does have a cute pair of boots and a pink fishing rod, to look the part!
After a quick outfit change, we headed to downtown Birmingham to finish up our session.
