Andria + Eddie
Denver, Colorado Clocktower Wedding

We had only known each other for about a week, when we got into our first fight. I don’t remember what the fight was about, only that I wrote a very stearn email requesting a new BLSA mentor, because it was clear that he and I could not get along. Looking back on it, all I can do is laugh about how “serious” I was as a first-year law student.  Now, almost seven years later, Eddie is one of my dearest and most supportive friends.

Last January, Eddie asked me to photograph his marriage proposal to Andria.  I had never met Andria, but could tell from all of the planning that he put into the proposal just how much he loved her.  The entire proposal event lasted about six hours (no kidding), and included time at the spa, horseback riding, an impromptu tour of the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church, dinner with a personal chef, a guitar serenade, and a little bit of poetry… I was there for the full six hours, photographing every intricate detail.  Eddie told Andria that I was in Montgomery to photograph a concert the next evening, so surprisingly, her suspicions were not raised (nor was she annoyed) that I was their third wheel for the entire day.  I encourage you to take a look at their [PROPOSAL ALBUM] to see a few of the special moments of their day, for yourself.

Naturally, I was stoked when I was asked to photograph their wed-ception (which means a little bit of wedding, a whole lot of reception) in beautiful Denver, Colorado. The day was well-planned, full of love and laughter, and a perfect reflection of the meshing of their personalities.

After the first look, we  made our way towards the Clock Tower, where the wed-reception was to take place.  We stopped portraits whenever we felt inspired.  Most of our inspiration was drawn from the 16th Street Mall, a pedestrian mall that runs through the heart of Denver.  Man, did we have fun… a few street performers even made it into our shots.
Eddie LOVES chess! It has been a constant theme in our sessions.  So naturally, we had to stop at the chess tables.
He is so silly…
And she is SO GORGEOUS!
Eddie and Andra, I love you both and wish you a lifetime full of friendship, adventure, love,  comfort and faith during the difficult times, and lots and lots of adorable babies for me to photograph!
