After their amazing engagement session, I had no doubt that Janine and Lindsey’s wedding would be one to remember. Janine, an admitted super type-a personality, had a dream for her day and made sure every aspect of that dream was brought to reality.
The wedding was inspired by the 1920s era, which is best known for it’s lavish parties and art deco design. She and Lindsey didn’t want it to be a costume party or feel like a true themed wedding, so they opted to incorporate the spirit of the 1920’s instead. Guests were asked to dress in black tire attire and were treated to a compilation of music from the 20s, compiled by the groom. Art deco design was incorporated into their wedding invitations, programs, menus, guest book, and wedding cake, which Janine designed. She also made 1920s-inspired headpieces for her and the bridesmaids to wear. The flower girls wore drop waist-line dresses, while the Mother-of-the-Bride wore a beautiful gold art deco inspired formal gown.
Janine didn’t follow the traditional “old, new, borrowed, blue,” rather she had three something blues for her day, including a handkerchief which belonged to her granny, who passed away in 2013, shortly after she and Lindsey met. Having the handkerchief with her made Janine feel like her granny was with her, on her special day.
I think I could have blogged every one of Janine’s portraits. Kunya with Makeup Dash did a beautiful job on her makeup.
Jordin, helping dad get ready to go down the aisle! Such a precious moment..
The lighting of the unity candle is one of her favorite memories from the day. Lindsey’s daughter, Jordin helped light the McAdory family candle.. although she was disappointed she didn’t get to light the “big candle.” Fortunately, the opportunity to wear colored lip gloss made up for it!
Did you catch that Janine designed their wedding cake?! Magnificent Cakes By Hilde did a wonderful job of bringing her design to life!
Janine’s advice to bride’s planning their day, “Enjoy the process by keeping the important things in perspective. In other words, despite any problems with vendors, wedding party members, or even family members, remember that this day is about you and your Groom. No one else and nothing else truly matters.”
Janine and Lindsey’s wedding can also be found in the Fifteenth Anniversary / 2016 Issue of Alabama Weddings Magazine now on stands!
