Yesterday, I talked to a potential client who has been engaged since last year and is planning to get married next year. She admitted that she had been feeling a little pressure to start making more significant wedding day plans, to fit into the box of “how” you’re supposed to go about getting married. You know, the proper timeline for planning. And all of the required necessities… Those stories blow my mind. Stories about “how” a woman’s wedding is supposed to be. Wouldn’t it be awesome if every woman’s wedding was exactly how she wanted it to be? Whether that be big and glamorous, with only the finest details or small and intimate. I am a fan of weddings because I am a fan of love… but love expressed intimately isn’t any less meaningful than that displayed in grande gestures.
Ebony and Ken got married at the Courthouse on a Thursday morning. She did her own makeup and fixed her own hair. After the ceremony and a few pictures, their family headed to a restaurant to eat and celebrate their union. It was a simple day and it was beautiful.
