Rashida was a guest at my first wedding and a bridesmaid in my second. Our circles of friendship have been overlapping and interweaving since, yet I have never had an opportunity to photograph just her — until now!

Originally from Birmingham, Rashida moved to Jackson a few years ago for work.  At the time, she didn’t plan to live in Jackson long and never expected to meet her future husband there.  Her good friend, Shalon, had different plans though, and immediately volunteered to find someone special for her. Rashida reluctantly agreed, so long as the man was Christian, single, good looking, without children, well-educated, professional, funny, a great conversationalist, outgoing, a gentleman, and from a good family.  To Rashida’s surprise, Shalon introduced her to a man who met and exceeded her expectations.

She and Michael were eventually introduced to one another, went on their first date, and have been inseparable since. Although their Spring wedding will take place in Rashida’s hometown, Birmingham, the two wanted to capture memories of their love in the city where they met and will begin their lives together as husband and wife. Of course, I was happy to make the trip!
