Transition

When the fire forced me to leave Birmingham on May 22nd, I expected to return after a few weeks. So, I spent the Summer in Montgomery and as the weeks away turned into months, I had to start making adjustments to the way I handled business.  The biggest change was in how I scheduled meetings and sessions.  I learned to had to take care of a week’s worth of meetings and session in one day, rather than multiple days… as a result, a lot of meetings that would have normally taken place over a cup of fancy coffee happened via Skype or on the phone. And while I miss the comforts of my favorite coffee shop, I found that I could still relay my enthusiasm and feel a bride’s excitement despite our distance.

What was really happening this Summer is that I was being forced out of the comfortable routine I had fallen into. I was being prepared for a bigger change. Montgomery was a necessary transition for what was next. Jeremiah 29:11 provides, “For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for well-being and not for trouble, to give you a future and a hope.”  God has already made plans for my life. And so, with lots of excitement and an equal amount of faith, I am following the path laid before me… the path that has led to Auburn, Alabama!

I’ll be sharing more about the move in coming weeks, but for now, I am excited about the adventures that comes with living in a new city… Meeting new people, trying all of the local restaurants, and navigating this college town on a game day.  I look forward to connecting with clients Auburn and Montgomery, while continuing to serve Birmingham and beyond. Of course, Fall portrait season is right around the corner, and an announcement with available dates will be hitting the blog next week.
