It’s as if they were destined to meet… sort of.  In the Fall of 2008, Dae moved from Atlanta to Houston to attend Law school Around the same time, Chris moved to Atlanta for work. After graduating in 2001, Dae moved from Houston to her home-state of Michigan, while Chris was planning a move to Houston. Despite living in two different cities at almost the same time, they never crossed paths.

Ironically, they ended up meeting on Match.com. And the kicker — both had Atlanta listed on their profiles, although neither lived there at the time. For her, she planned to return to Atlanta..  and Chris just hadn’t taken the time to update his new city.

And so, like so many modern love stories, Dae and Chris started getting to know each other from afar — via video chat and phone.  Three months later, the two decided to go on their first in-person date in Washington, DC, for no reason other than the fact they both loved the city. And after two days of sightseeing, good food, and great conversation, Chris asked Dae to be his girlfriend.

It would be another year before the two lived in the same city. But, finally they both were living in Atlanta and after six months, Chris asked Dae to be his wife.

For Dae, the first look was her favorite part of the day. She was nervous, leading up to that moment, but felt so much more relaxed after. Having the time alone, she says, was “so special.”

Dae and Chris probably had one of the best desserts I have ever had at a wedding — Krimpy Kreme Flambe ala mode.  As if Krispy Kreme donuts aren’t already delicious enough… they were caramelized in bourbon flames and then topped with vanilla bean ice cream. Sooooo good!
