They worked together for a year, before the thought of dating ever crossed their minds.. Katrina and a co-worker had actually planned to set Andre’ up with one of their friends, but the date never came to fruition and soon, co-workers were asking the two if they had ever considered dating. Andre’ admitted that he hadn’t and that he wasn’t really interested in the idea, because he didn’t want to date a co-worker. A few days later, while at a company outing something suddenly clicked for him. And by the next week, the two were giggling together over IHOP pancakes and talking into the late hours of the night. They have been inseparable since.
Katrina doesn’t consider herself to be a traditional person. She was never the little girl who dreamed of her wedding day; she never wanted a fairy tale. All she wanted was to dress up and have a party with the people she loves. She and Andre’ decided to have a surprise ceremony to take minimize anticipation (i.e. stress) surrounding their wedding. Presented as a supposed engagement party, they knew that the people who showed up would be the ones who were meant to witness their nuptials.
Katrina works with Ambiance Decor, a design company based in Atlanta, so she already knew that her dear friend Celeste (owner) and fellow team members were the only ones she trusted with her surprise day. They did not disappoint… Using a combination of yellows, reds, and oranges they warmed up the rich industrial vibe of The Foundry at Puritan Mills and created Katrina’s perfect day. Weddings by Day orchestrated the entire day and made sure the surprise went off without a hitch!
