When a couple and I are planning their engagement session, the goal is to always incorporate ideas that represent their personalities and things they like to do together. I want every couple to be able to look at their pictures and say, “that is so us.” Some know exactly what they want to do for their engagement session, while others come to me with more broad/abstract ideas about what represents them, and we then put together something that will be special.
Janine admittedly has a super type-A personality. She has wedding-related lists for days… Fortunately, her nature hasn’t translated into any bridezilla moments. She balances being super involved and detail-oriented with kindness and appreciation for every one of her vendors. When had our first pre-wedding meeting, Janine and Lindsey already had ideas for their engagement session. Janine is from Atlanta, but the two will marry in Birmingham, so incorporating her home-city mattered greatly. They also wanted to tie in their roaring 20s wedding theme, and their lifestyles as young professionals. Lindsey apparently also has a mind-boggling obsession with peanuts, preferably from the Peanut Depot. With that information, a game plan was devised, our first shooting location, The Goat Farm (a personal favorite) was booked, and the two put in the work to bring our combined vision to life! This is what we ended up with…

Tanya C. Artistry did an uhhh-mazing job on Janine’s makeup. AND she went above and beyond to stick around to retouch Janine as needed, and to change up her look with each outfit change. I look forward to working with Tanya again at the wedding. #dedication #superMUA
I wish I could take credit for saying, “ok Lindsey, now look over your shoulder at Janine,” but he did it on his own. This is probably my favorite picture from the “young professionals” look. They both look so powerful, modern, and chic! Great job, y’all.
