As we drove to Florida, we marveled at how beautiful a day it was. The weather was perfect and the sunset was beautiful. My second shooter, Emma, and I were in disbelief, that it could be such a beautiful day given the threat that Tropical Storm Karen posed to Ashley and Chris’ wedding the next day.  The threat was so strong that Eglin Airforce Base, where their ceremony was to be held, planned to close. Chris called with the news that the ceremony and reception would take place at an Italian restaurant, instead. Despite the last minute change, Ashley had a great attitude and wasn’t willing to let the impending hurricane ruin her day.

The next morning, I woke up to the most beautiful little sunshine icon on the weather forecast, while poor Emma woke up to Robyn Thicke’s Blurred Lines (“Everybody Get Up!!”) and me joyfully dancing around. Everyone’s prayers had been answered! The storm had slowed down and we were all set for a beautiful day!

And a beautiful day it was… full of laughter and love and special moments to remember those family members lost too soon, Ashley and Chris’ wedding day embodied everything they are as a couple. Thank you both for letting me be a part of every step of the journey, starting with the moment Chris popped the question. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!!
