Less than six degrees separated these two, when a mutual friend introduced them. They were actually, more or less, in the same social circle but had never met. Monica was living in New Jersey at the time and Derrick in North Carolina, which surely factored into their paths not crossing.  Fortunately, someone saw how great of a couple they could be, introduced them, and the rest is history.

Today, Monica lives in Tennessee and Derrick is still in North Carolina, but the two decided to shoot their engagement photos in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama and get married in hers, New Orleans, Louisiana.  As you will see, they are both ridiculously incredibly attractive and the chemistry that exists between them is undeniable.  Birmingham’s new Uptown district was the perfect backdrop to capture their love, while Derrick’s alma mater was a sweet touch to incorporate a little more of his Birmingham roots.
