As I shared on Facebook yesterday, I am guilty of saying that every wedding is “my favorite.” But, let’s be honest, “favorite” and “best” are words that we all through around pretty lightly, regardless of whether what we’re describing really is the best of the best or the one we would pick out of all the other options. When it comes to the weddings I shoot, though, almost every wedding really is a favorite… but for different reasons. Sometimes it’s the relationship between the couple, sometimes it’s my interaction with the bride or the wedding party, sometimes it’s the details of the day. And sometimes it’s all of the above… which was the case with this wedding.
When I first met Shauna and TJ, I instantly liked them. We sat in a park, while my son ran laps around the bases of an empty baseball field and talked about their wedding, their story, and their two children, who we all wished were there to run those bases too. The story they shared wasn’t perfect, but their love for one another endured. That love was on full display at their wedding at the Cordell in Nasvhille.
With soft bohemian-vibed details and a gorgeous teal, blush, white, and gold color scheme, their wedding was… well is (you guessed it!) a favorite! Enjoy —
How cute are these little Shopkins with the wedding rings?!
Have I mentioned, yet, how cute Shauna and TJ’s kids are?
The mothers of the bride and groom placed roses with the names of family members who had passed in the cross at the altar.
Eadley’s Barbeque may also have a little something to do with my love for this wedding. Behind tacos, barbeque is pretty much the best, and Eadley’s is my favorite in the city.
