With Their Two Cute Pups : Melissa + Matt

I am pretty excited about this couple’s upcoming wedding. Not only are they getting married at one of the most iconic venues in the Southeast (hello Biltmore Estate,) but Melissa is one of the most laid-back brides I have ever worked with. And Matt, though he will likely resent us both after the hours of planned portraits, is just as laid back and dedicated to making sure she’s happy through the planning of this wedding.

Melissa and Matt’s dogs are a huge part of their life and are very much like their children. Melissa owned Roxy as a “single lady,” then she and Matt adopted Bali as a puppy once their relationship got serious. Nine years later, they have truly grown to be a family.   During the planning of their engagement session, Roxy developed some health concerns… Seeing that Melissa was understandably stressed over what was going on with her little pup, I suggested that we include both dogs in their shoot to truly capture their relationship and something that matters a great deal to the them.

  4. […] Melissa and Matt, in a lot of ways, had the type of wedding I hope to one day have for myself, small and intimate and completely reflective of their personality as a couple. As they said their vows, they were surrounded only by those people that unconditionally love them, those that will be by their side to celebrate every joy life brings them, and to pray for them when they face difficult times. Their intimate took place at Biltmore Estate, in Asheville, North Carolina.  If you don’t know a lot about Biltmore or have never seen this incredible estate for yourself, I recommend that you plan a visit. The story behind the home and all that goes into maintaining it year-round are fascinating. […]
